In immunology, active immunity is any immunity that the body creates for itself in response to the presence of specific harmful substances, which usually are bacteria or viruses. This can take a number of different forms. In some instances, active immunity is a natural process. At other times, active immunity can be artificially triggered.
Naturally acquired active immunity (NAAI) occurs when the person is exposed to a live pathogen, develops the disease, and becomes immune as a result of the primary immune response.
While artificially acquired active immunity (AAAI) can be induced by a vaccine, a substance that contains the antigen. A vaccine stimulates a primary response against the antigen without causing symptoms of the disease.
Questions ( Click "comments" and type your answers):
- What is the main difference between the NAAI & AAAI ?
- By what ways we can induce AAAI ?
- Are there other kinds of Immunity ? If yes, write them please.

2. AAAI can be induced by vaccines which contain antigens. this vaccine activates the primary response against the antigen causing no symptoms of the disease.
ReplyDelete1- The difference between NAAI & AAAI are due : by contact with live pathogen will make NAAI while AAAI only when someone is taking a vaccine .
ReplyDelete1- In both NAAI and AAAI, the person is being exposed to a foreign antigen and actively forming antibodies against it but the difference is that in the NAAI, the antigen is pathogenic, while in AAAI, the antigen is attenuated and made non-pathogenic where the person shows no symptoms of disease.
ReplyDelete1- in both NAAI and AAAI, the person's body is being exposed to an antigen and actively starts forming antibodies against it, but the difference is that in NAAI the antigen is pathogenic while in the AAAI the antigen is attenuated and made non-pathogenic where the individual shows no symptoms of the disease.
ReplyDelete3-There are two main types of immunity: natural immunity(inborn,or innate) and Acquired or adaptive immunity.Acquired immunity is of two types:Active or natural immunity, and passive or artificail immunity
ReplyDelete1-Natural Immunity other wise known as innate immunity or inborne immunity is acquired from the mother and lasts till death.Natural immunity is permanent immunity.
ReplyDeleteArtificial immunty is acquired immunity that is developed due to administration of vaccine etc.It is not permanent.Artificial Immunity is temporary.
